FREE Stargazing Opportunities at the Camp McGregor Observatory 
Camp McGregor is located on Crispell Lake at 10380 Adams Rd., Clark Lake, MI  49234
 
For Reservations please call the camp directly at 517-529-0002  if you would like to schedule a private viewing date or if you plan to bring a large group to a community viewing.)
 
The Jackson County Mathematics and Science Center offers free public stargazing events at the Camp McGregor Obsevatory each month (April - October).  These viewings are supported by both the Amateur Astronomers of Jackson and trained personnel from our local schools as a way to share the night sky with the community. Each stargaze event is on the third weekend of the month -- beginning shortly after dark and lasting about two hours (depending on weather). Since stargazing is an outdoor activity, be sure to dress appropriately for the changing nightime conditions in Michigan (cold, mosquitoes, dew, etc).  Viewing dates for 2014 are listed below.

(All times are beginning at dusk for 2 hours each of the following evenings)

Friday and Saturday - July 18 & 19

Friday and Saturday - September 19 & 20

Viewing dates may be canceled or changed due to weather.  If cloudy or inclement weather exist, viewings will not be held.  For reservations, please call Camp McGregor at 517-529-0002 or email at campmcgregor@jcisd.org.  To find out if the viewing is canceled, please call 517-990-8004 for the observatory direct line.  Please note that this number is a recording only.
