Jackson County Mathematics and Science Center Observatory at Camp McGregor Stargazing Opportunities at the Camp McGregor Observatory The Jackson County Mathematics and Science Center offers free public stargazing events at the Camp McGregor Obsevatory each month (April - November). These viewings are supported by both the Amateur Astronomers of Jackson and trained personnel from our local schools as a way to share the night sky with the community. Each stargaze event is on the third weekend of the month -- beginning shortly after dark and lasting about two hours (depending on weather). Since stargazing is an outdoor activity, be sure to dress appropriately for the changing nightime conditions in Michigan (cold, mosquitoes, dew, etc). Viewing dates for 2013 are listed below.
Viewing dates may be canceled or changed due to weather. If cloudy or inclement weather exist, viewings will not be held. For reservations, please call Camp McGregor at 517-529-0002 For more information on the Amateur Astronomers, please visit their website at http://aaoj.info or contact them by e-mail: bfrybarger@ameritech.net For more information about the Peter F.
