  • 2013-14 budget hearing
    set for 
    June 25 at KEC
    The Jackson County Intermediate School District will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at 5:30p.m.,  to consider the district’s proposed 2013-2014 budget.  The meeting will be held in the Board Room at the Kratz Education Center, 6700 Browns Lake Road, Jackson, MI.

     

    The Board may not adopt its proposed 2013-2014 budget until after the public hearing.  A copy of the Proposed 2013-2014 Budget is available for public inspection at www.jcisd.org or during normal business hours at 6700 Browns Lake Road, Jackson, MI.

     

    The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.

  • $2,500 education grants available through Meemic

    The Meemic Foundation, a non-profit organization created by Meemic Insurance Company, has been providing financial assistance in the form of grants to schools and educators since 1992. Currently, the Foundation is accepting grant applications through the end of June for funding up to $2,500 for fall 2013 programs. Click on the headline above for more information.

    Free GED Prep classes will be held at t Spring Arbor University’s downtown Jackson campus, 113 West Michigan Ave., beginning April 8. Sessions will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9-11:30am and 5:30-8pm. The classes are offered through the Jackson Area Career Center’s Adult Career Education program.   • Learning Fair comes to Career Center July 11-12

    The 20th annual Learning Fair – one of the area’s largest and longest running and technology fairs – will be returning to the campus of the Jackson Area Career Center on Thursday-Friday, July 11-12.
