|
Custodial Services An important service that is always in demand in the business, health, food, and service industries are people with custodial skills. The Custodial program at the Career Center prepares students with transitional skills for entry-level jobs in building maintenance, hotels, hospitals, care homes, restaurants, etc. This program is designed to assist the student who is in need of vocational training, but not quite ready for an intense, multi-skill program. The curriculum covers use of chemical cleaners, floor care, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, how to stock and use a cleaning cart, and commercial laundry applications. In addition to these skills, students learn job readiness and interviewing skills and even practice how to fill out job applications. Business and industry partnerships with this program allow students to get on-the-job training while advancing their career goals.
